Pointy Stone 3, Latest version descriptions Version 3.5: Analysis mode now functional. Use the "An" button and Pointy will think about the position Improved transposition table Left the develop menu on this version. View board evaluation, transpoition table entry, perft, read position form X-O string. ( Removed the learning options though, as these are finnicky I haven't tried them recently. ) More search depth choices. Pruning is always on instead of only timed games. Various UI fixes. Eg. Improved analysis display Fixed possible buffer overrun when playing net game General code cleanup. Still to messy for a source release. Version 3.45: This is just a small update I made in a few days. The main changes here are in the net game features. The Pointy Stone net game is now much more full featured, including allowing multiple people to connect server, observers, games at multiple tables, better chat window, take backs now possible, etc. The netcode itself should be much more robust and less buggy too, but it's also much more complicated, and it's possible that I may have made some errors integerating the new code into Pointy, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were bugs even though it worked fine in my tests. Version 3.4: This version is stronger. It uses forward pruning in timed games, has recomputed patterns weights, and better move ordering, esp. in endgame (which also slowed down the search speed quite a bit unfortunately. ) Some menu items and features have changed too. I've updated most sections of this web page. There are also tons of other AI fixes/bugs and usability features that I didn't get around to, but since I don't know if I will be working more on this anytime soon I decided to put it up now. When it starts the endgame search in timed games is still only optimized for an AMD 1.4 ghz computer and 2 minute games.
